Cupcake and
Mama Esther
From John DeSantis and Bonnie Hurwitz,
adopters of Mama (now Mama Esther)
Mama Esther and Cupcake continue to be
totally in love! They constantly cuddle and
groom each other, and although Mama is still
a little more shy with us than our exuberant
Cupcake, whom we took in as a baby, she has
warmed up and seems very comfortable. Their
favorite spot for snuggling continues to be,
ironically, the old roasting pan which we
found in our house, now filled with hay
(this being a totally vegetarian household
our little darlings are in no danger of
coming to any harm in that pan!). All of
the children in the neighborhood adore them
and come over for carefully supervised
visits to give them pieces of broccoli.
We can never
thank Friends of Rabbits enough for
everything you do for so many rabbits and
also for the support you give to adopters.
Being in animal rescue ourselves we looked
carefully at many shelters and rescues when
we made the decision to adopt a companion
for Cupcake. We chose Friends of Rabbits
because of the wonderful guidance you give
adopters both before and after adoption.
Being new to the world of house rabbits and
knowing very little about these enchanting
creatures, we have really appreciated your
willingness to educate and help those of us
who have a lot to learn. We look forward to
seeing everyone again at future events.

Owl
From Elizabeth
B.
Owl and
I are doing well. I've attached two pictures
of Owl being cute and one of me invading his
pen to study with him. He's learned how to
jump out of the pen onto my bed to come say
hi (which I find very very cute). He only
does this occasionally but I've had to make
a little blockade for when I'm out so he
can't get stuck out of his pen without
water. He LOVES pear and makes very cute
loud lip smacking noises when he eats it.

Peanut,
Sweetheart, Oreo
From Josie T.
My lovable "threesome" came to me in
October of 2007. I have learned so much
about rabbit social politics, rabbit
preferences...they were not in the way of
being sociable, so they were bonded by a
miracle worker named Susan. They have grown
cuddly, and love to groom each other. We are
fostering two bun-buns right now, an
"oldster," a lovely girl I call Lola, and a
fun-loving young bachelor we call Gandalph.
If no home can be found for them., I will
adopt them too. My bunny family is growing
in love and numbers, and the neighborhood is
curious and receptive as I sing the many
praises of rabbits as pets. Love and hope to
all who adopt and foster. |
Rufus
From
Cindy O'Keefe
Rufus has been
a wonderful addition to our family. As you
can see from the picture he is a great match
for our Netherland Dwarf rabbit, Princess.
They really seem to be in love! He loves to
eat hay or anything else. He is sweet and
very laid back. Thanks for introducing us.
It was a great experience. I was so
impressed by all the knowledge and passion
you all have with these wonderful creatures.
